As we continue to find ourselves in extraordinary circumstances, Canadian Scholars and Women’s Press would like to acknowledge the changes and disruptions the academic community is currently coping with.
We would first like to emphasize that we are committed to protecting the health and safety of our staff as well as the instructors and authors that make up our community during this uncertain time. As the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve and impact families, businesses, and academic institutions around the world, we are complying with the instructions and advisements from the Ontario Government and our health officials.
At this time, we will continue to operate and publish according to our usual publishing calendar. Our staff will be working remotely in order to practice social distancing measures; we have a well-set up infrastructure in place to ensure we can continue to communicate with each other, our customers, and business partners in an efficient fashion. If our supply chain is impacted at any point due to recommendations from our government officials, we will share that information through our publisher’s representatives and here on our website.
While we are still adapting to challenges that this new reality presents, here is a brief summary of how we are currently responding to the needs of our customers:
As always, we continue to offer complimentary review copies of our books for course consideration, however, given the circumstances, we encourage our customers to consider reviewing digital copies if at all possible. Please let your publisher’s representative know should you require a print review copy.
For instructors currently using one of our books for a Winter 2020 course and requiring digital access for students who already purchased a print copy but can no longer access/obtain it, your publisher’s representative will be happy to walk you through obtaining digital access.
For other queries, or if you are not sure how to contact your publisher’s representative, please email info@canadianscholars.ca and we will be happy to direct you to the most helpful party to help you find answers and solutions.
We hope everyone will take care, be kind, and comply with recommended social distancing practices at this time to ensure the health and safety of our communities.
All the best from us at Canadian Scholars and Women’s Press

What is a Reflowable ebook?
Reflowable eTextbooks respond to the size of the device they are viewed on, much like a typical website. This causes them to look different from a traditional book. They may also contain embedded audio, video, or interactive components in addition to the RedShelf Reader’s standard study tools.
What is a Fixed Layout eBook?
A fixed layout eTextbook maintains the look and the feel of a printed textbook. The text is fixed, and the screen size determines the size of the text. These eTextbooks work best on large-screen devices and do not contain any embedded media or interactive content.
Auto Renew
Auto renew allows e-book rentals to be automatically renewed after the initial rental duration.
If enabled, you will automatically be charged and your rental will renew for the same duration as purchased. Auto renew is set to off by default. If auto renew is off, you lose access to the e-book after the rental duration.
Hi there!
The digital eBook you have selected is a Rental and may expire when the selected duration runs out. If you would like to purchase lifetime access to this eBook, please select a Purchase option instead.
