Webinar Series: Promoting the Health of Older Adults

Sep 15, 2022

By CS Team

This fall, participants will have the chance to attend three webinars based off our acclaimed book Promoting the Health of Older Adults. Presented by CORE Canada, and sponsored by the United Way of B.C., Health Promotion Canada and the National Collaborating Centre on Determinants of Health, the series aims to mobilize action for promoting health and well-being for older adults.

The 90-minute sessions will build upon topics that were introduced in an earlier series of webinars hosted by The National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health (NCCDH) and Health Promotion Canada (HPC), which explored public health equity for older adults.

The upcoming topics are:

Re-orienting Health and Social Services for Older Adults: Provincial Strategies for Community-Based Seniors Services—September 29th

Age-Friendly Communities—October 27th

Housing for Older Adults—November 24th

The September 29th session will begin at 9:30am PST. The October and November sessions will begin at 10am PST.

The webinars will feature discussions with practitioners, researchers, and policy makers related to the weekly topic. They will outline key issues and give examples of programs and strategies that have been successful with solving those issues. At the end of every discussion, there will be a Q&A for participants, as well as access to further resources and tools.
