Canadian Scholars is in search of a highly motivated individual to join our team in the full-time role of Sales and Marketing Lead for Scholars Pathway, our new imprint that publishes exam preparation and professional development courses. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both creating demand and converting it into sales. You will own the student acquisition journey from awareness through purchase and help us develop the marketing and sales systems that will support future growth.
This position reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and will collaborate closely with our course and product team, but you will be the owner of the Scholars Pathway sales pipeline.
About us:
Canadian Scholars is one of Canada’s leading independent academic publishers for the higher education market. We create high-quality textbooks and teaching resources that make a lasting contribution to the arts, humanities, social sciences, and business studies. As an organization, we are committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment that fosters collaboration and growth.
Scholars Pathway is a new imprint for our company focused on licensure exam preparation courses, workbooks, and continuing education courses for recent graduates and professionals. Our courses adapt to student learning needs, guiding with confidence from first career steps to full professional practice and beyond.
About you:
You are a builder. You don’t need a large team or a big budget to get things moving. You can look at an empty campaign calendar and figure out what needs to happen next. You are equally comfortable thinking about strategy and doing the work required to execute it.
You will be the hands-on sales and marketing lead for Scholars Pathway, helping us build our student acquisition engine from the ground up. You will develop campaigns that generate awareness and leads, create content and communications that build trust with prospective students, and turn those prospects into paying customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing and Demand Generation (40%)
Identify key markets for Scholars Pathway products and create lead generation plans for each
Create and run campaigns from concept through execution across email, social media, paid advertising, search, content marketing, and webinars
Maintain consistent brand messaging, visual identity, and voice
Sales and Partnerships (45%)
Manage leads, prospects, and customers in Zoho CRM and through the ecommerce journey
Convert prospective students into customers to reach sales targets
Identify, pitch, and close partnerships with post-secondary institutions, professional associations, and employers
Support enrolled students and partner instructors, and gather feedback and testimonials
Performance and Growth (15%)
Track campaign and sales data, and report on the full funnel from first contact to purchase
Test and optimize campaigns, messaging, offers, and channels
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in marketing, sales, growth or related commercial role, preferably in a B2C capacity
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
Experience developing and executing multi-channel campaigns
Experience with customer relationship management systems (CRMs); Zoho CRM experience would be an asset
Strong project management and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work in an independent, hands-on fashion and know how to strategize, execute, and prioritize
A commercial mindset: you care about leads, conversion, customers, and revenue, not just reach or engagement
Experience with online courses or learning management systems (LMS) in higher education would be an asset
Experience marketing to licensure or certification exam candidates would be an asset
Experience in higher education, edtech, or post-secondary institutions would be an asset
This role offers an annual base salary of $52,000–$56,000, depending on experience, plus competitive commission, benefits, and a group RSP plan.

Reflowable eTextbooks respond to the size of the device they are viewed on, much like a typical website. This causes them to look different from a traditional book. They may also contain embedded audio, video, or interactive components in addition to the VitalSource Reader's standard study tools.
What is a Fixed Layout eBook?
A fixed layout eTextbook maintains the look and the feel of a printed textbook. The text is fixed, and the screen size determines the size of the text. These eTextbooks work best on large-screen devices and do not contain any embedded media or interactive content.
